Next date: Thursday, 23 May 2024 | 06:30 PM to 07:30 PM

Helen and David Croser.jpg

David and Helen Croser now living in Portland perform a fairly unique show featuring David singing and playing country music and bush ballads including songs he has written and Helen reads her original poetry.  Both are recording artists and David has four CD’s plus a fifth CD recorded by Gum Flat Revival Band. This band was formed in David’s hometown of Minlaton, SA. They won the group section of both attempts in the Portland Country Music Festivals in 1982 and 1987, as well as other talent quests in South Australia, including the group section in the inaugural Port Pirie Country Music Festival in 1983. Helen started her poetry writing after attending poets breakfasts at festivals she and David attended and now has a large and diverse range of poetry. She has recorded one poetry CD and one poetry book. They will have their CD’s for sale on the evening if anyone would like to purchase one.

We encourage you to bring along your picnic dinner to enjoy while listening to Helen and David perform.  Please note all events at the library are Alcohol Free events.
