Libraries After Dark - Introduction to Figure Drawing - Dylan Shearsby

Learn the basics of classical figure drawing, using gesture lines and simple construction to give your drawings character, movement and balance.

Using photo references of life models, we will learn to loosen up, capture the essence of a pose in just a few lines, and use simple 3d shapes to build a foundation for realistic drawings.

Dylan Shearsby is a professional storyboard artist who has drawn for multiple TV series', hundreds of commercials and a feature film. He also paints and sells original artwork through Manyung Gallery and Bluethumb. He has written and illustrated two children's books and has taught watercolour painting and figure drawing in person and online.
