Portland CEMA Inc. is thrilled to be partnering with Glenelg Libraries again this year, bringing five sessions to Libraries After Dark in February and March. CEMA stands for Council for Encouragement of Music and the Arts and is a volunteer arts organisation. All sessions will be free of charge, and participants are welcome to consider joining Portland CEMA Inc. as a member to continue enjoying the many group activities throughout the year.
Thursday 5th February: Portland CEMA Ukulele Group
Portland CEMA Ukulele Group will host two activities:
Introduction to Ukulele Playing: 6.30pm – 7:00pm
If you are an absolute beginner ukulele player or simply curious come along at 6.30pm for a half hour introductory session led by CEMA president Jan Colliver with the help of group members. We have a few ukuleles available to try thanks to a grant from “Pacific Blue.” BYO Uke if you have one. Adults only. Registration essential, 12 places available. Ph: 55222265
Sing and Strum Session: 7:15pm – 8:15pm
Suitable for ukulele players who know a few chords. Anyone keen to sing-a-long or simply listen is most welcome. Those intending to play, please BYO uke and music stand.
