Portland Author Event: Rose Capp, Demystifying Dementia

Glenelg Libraries will welcome author and dementia-care specialist Rose Capp to the Portland Library for an event presented as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival.
In her book Demystifying Dementia, Rose offers a practical and compassionate introduction to dementia. She encourages readers to understand the experiences of people living with the condition and explores how thoughtful communication, meaningful engagement and music can support connection and wellbeing.
Rose is a registered nurse with extensive experience in dementia care and education. She works as a policy adviser at Dementia Australia and teaches ageing and dementia studies at Flinders University. Her varied career has also included academic work, film criticism and choir direction.
This event will be of interest to people living with dementia, their families and friends, carers, and anyone wishing to develop a better understanding of the condition.
Copies of Demystifying Dementia will be available at the event, with both cash and card payments accepted.
